Participants qualify one of the following categories:

  • Market-Ready: Products launched by February 1, 2025, showcasing design, innovation, and market success.
  • Pre-Market: Developed but not launched by February 1, 2025, featuring upcoming innovations.
  • Concept: Unproduced projects as of February 1, 2025, highlighting creativity and forward-thinking.

Application procedures

The process begins with applications in April, followed by an initial screening, a subsequent evaluation, and a phase dedicated to preparing for the award announcement and promotion, concluding in March of the next year.

Application Method

1. How to apply

Applicants are required to prepare materials within the application period:

Attractiveness
Submit clear product visuals, design concept, and market performance data.

Functionality
Provide nutritional details, supporting experimental data, and highlight user-friendly features.

Quality
Demonstrate durable, certified packaging and ensure food safety with long-term usage feedback.

Responsibility
Showcase environmental initiatives, recyclable materials, and social or charitable commitments.

2. Screening method

The Jury’s decision was made based on 4 perspectives: attractiveness, quality, functionality, and responsibility.

Fees

Screening fees

The fees from the application to the winning are approximate as follows.

The fee is structured as $500 for the first screening, $1,000 for the second screening, and $1,500 for the award package, totaling $3,000.

While the ODA does not impose a fixed entry target or award rate, approximately 30% of submissions have been recognized in recent years.
